The #FACEAwards are a little over two weeks away (OMG) and we couldn’t be more excited to have such a talented panel of judges (along with our fabulous host and emcee) join us for this incredible night!

We thought we’d help our audience get to know our judges a little better through fun Q&A sessions! Meet the editor who runs a seriously cool pop culture magazine, the founder of a powerhouse beauty department, the MUA who has won multiple Oscars, and the beauty and lifestyle expert who got to interview the president! Basically, our judges #slay!

MEGAN MCINTYREMEGAN MCINTYRE

Title: Refinery29 Beauty Features Director

Proudest professional moment to-date?
Founding the Refinery29 beauty department almost five years ago. Before that it was successfully figuring out the mystery of how to make matte lipstick look velvety and not like I’d been making out with that sand snake from Beetlejuice. For the record it’s a low-wax,-high-moisture formula, lots of exfoliation, and a gentle application of balm that is gently blotted off pre-application.

When did you first fall in love with makeup/beauty?
I was always bewitched by the colorful cosmetics in the drugstore aisle, but it wasn’t until I was 16 and dealing with some pretty harsh teenage breakouts that I came to discover just how magical makeup could be. Big ups to the Lancôme makeup artist at my local Macy’s that showed me how to apply it and threw in a quick eyeshadow tutorial while she was at it. Bless.

What’s your favorite NYX product?
Without a doubt that would be the Matte Lipstick. I wrote a whole ode to it back in R29 Beauty’s early days. (Read it here.) Pure Red and Goal Digger are two of my absolute faves.

What was your proudest professional moment to-date?
Interviewing President Obama was such an incredible experience. I never thought I’d be doing something like that. It was so important to me to stay present and grateful that day.

When did you first fall in love with makeup/beauty?
After my dad passed away, I found solace in establishing a beauty routine. Beauty was a big part of my grieving process. I found a lot of comfort in it.

What’s your favorite NYX product?
The Matte Lipstick in the shade Indie Flick! It’s been a makeup staple of mine for a couple years now.
